With our new division:
Academic Press: for Text / Workbooks publishing your textbook is possible. Putting your
book in the hands of your students three months after you send us the
approved manuscript camera-ready can be a reality.
If you
don't have time, and your manuscript is already finished, send it to us and we
will make it camera ready.
We do not publish
books that are not Textbooks.
We
do not consider anthologies of a single author as textbooks.
We do not
make reprints of books already published and still available on the market, or
under contract with other publishers.
Please include a brief description of your book,
the table of contents, as well as the title of the course in which you will use
it, how often the course is taught, the first semester for which you will use
it, and the expected enrollment.
There are two options:
1. Your textbook published to be offered for
adoption.
The manuscript will be sent out for peer-review.
These reviews will be considered for the final decision.
2. Your textbook published to use only in your
course.
This would be an interesting way of measuring the
impact of the book in students and would help you to correct it. In this case,
your book can be published immediately after accepted, and it would not offered
for adoption to other colleges and universities.
Years of experience teaching very specific
and innovative courses such as courses on women writers, gender studies, culture
and civilization through films, etc. with materials developed by yourselves to
enhance your own students’ learning experience leave many of you with a textbook
basically in hand. Do not let your continuous effort and priceless work
disappear. Make it work to your advantage.
Your book can be a
reader, a textbook in any discipline.
It may be a textbook on
Latin American / Spanish / French / Italian or Portuguese culture through films,
or Spanish / French / Italian or Portuguese for Business or for the Professions,
or Lesbian
Gay Literature.
It may be a textbook for
Spanish, French, Italian, German or Portuguese.
It may be a book
developed by one or more instructors from the same or from different
institutions or by all the professors teaching the same subject in a University
System.
It may be a Reader
with poems or short stories by
several writers
working in different universities in the USA, for example 6 or 10 Latin American
Women Writers, or Hispanic Writers in the USA, etc. Adopted in each
university the reader will give more exposure to each writer.
The possibilities are endless!
Advantages of having your
book published by Academic Press:
1. You will be teaching with the best

information you want to use.
2. You will get royalties once a year.
3. You will be released from making copies
every semester or year and will see your work and efforts credited as a
publication.
4. Once your textbook is published it will be offered for
adoption to colleges and universities in the USA.
5. Any College Bookstore can order your textbook directly from us
or through any textbook distributor.
Our books are printed in the USA.
